(Daygon07) What’s up game geeks and tech junkies, welcome to A Gaming Moment, a weekly 30 minute podcast about everything gaming and streaming related, including the news, tech, and software behind it. Be sure to follow us on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram so you can engage with us as well as find out when we’re streaming the podcast and get a first listen before it goes out across all of your favorite podcasting platforms…. I am Daygon07 and with me as always is WildTwinsFan.
(Daygon07) Well Wildie, I have to say upfront, this week is an extremely streamer heavy episode due to some unexpected appearances by prominent streamers.
Shroud Back on Twitch
(WildTwinsFan). Breaking news, Shroud confirmed that he’s returning home to Twitch just as A Gaming Moment called it, no real surprise here, We also saw Ninja back on Twitch of all platforms, Just casually streaming with a friend! Doc is now streaming on YouTube.
(Daygon07) Yeah there’s so much to dive into and digest I think we should start with what has been confirmed and that’s Shroud going back to Twitch.
(WildTwinsFan) Yeah I was about to call shroud out this episode for pretty much a lack of everything aside from meaningless random tweets, IMHO terrible form for a top tier streamer, with 7.2 million followers on twitch, I’m glad the deal is done, and we can hopefully stop meaningless hype tweeting ads for his brand, which i think belittles the followers a bit, I say people come to twitch for the Community and it doesn’t seem like Shroud embraces it, as much as he should.. Give people a time and date of your return, even if it’s August, or September, at least start some meaningful hype.
(Daygon07) Shroud’s return was unexpectedly expected… I mean we called what he was going to do, but we just didn’t know when. Maybe he saw Doc’s return stream and was like “(Deep shroud voice) Oh, I guess I gotta one up Doc again in the news…” BAM signed with Twitch.
(WildTwinsFan) Shroud could learn a lot from Doc, who at least had a reason to be quiet. Doc was at least active enough with his community to put out meaningful content with the music videos he dropped which gave hope to his community for an eventual return.
DrDisrespect Streaming on YouTube
(Daygon07) Yeah Wildie, I didn’ believe you when you told me Doc was live on YouTube, shout out to your buddy ambitions for telling you. I know we had talked about the possibilities of where Doc might stream back in Episode 4 but this threw me for a major surprise. Not in the sense that he was streaming on YouTube but the fact he was streaming at all…
(WildTwinsFan) This is the first time Doc has gone live on any platform since his permaban a little over a month ago. We’ve been on Doc watch since day one and outside of his interview with various news outlets, we haven’t heard much from him other than the random music video that he drops… Until now… And boy did he come back with a BANG topping out over 500,000 live viewers!!!! On YT, Those are GREAT numbers!
(Daygon07) Man, I thought Ninja’s numbers when he streamed on YouTube were amazing, but Docs numbers are insane!!! What I didn’t understand was, why his stream was up for almost 24 hours straight, for a good portion it was a scene with his lambo at a gas station. Another crazy Doc stat that has exploded is his followers on YouTube. Now to be honest here I haven’t been keeping a close eye on it, but it’s been about 3 weeks since I checked before now, but doc has basically doubled his subscribers from like 1.2 million to 2.42 million in just 3 weeks! I’ll be curious to see if Doc remains on YouTube or if he’s just flexing.
(WildTwinsFan) Yeah Day, Doc does things for a purpose, no doubt this is a calculated move on his part. Love him or hate him, Doc is a showman and he’s putting on quite the show AND proving to all of the major streaming platforms he’s THE free agent to sign. He did come out on the stream and addressed the question.
So from the sounds of it, he’s going forward with legal action, and like he said, he firmly believes it was an unwarranted ban and it’s still unknown as to why he was banned but there is apparently a ton of money at stake , like a 7,8 figure number, so expect this to take quite a bit time for a resolution.
(Daygon07) It’s no different than what he stated when he spoke to the news outlets. It’s crazy how tight lipped both parties have been, not a single leak from anyone… which is a first. But I’ll tell you what though… Doc being the athlete he is, my guess is he’s gonna do what you see prominent sports figures do when it comes to contract negotiations… see what the biggest name gets and go for more.
(WildTwinsFan) Shroud’s signed now! Is that providing leverage for Doc and Ninja now?
(Daygon07) I mean it could, the specifics have not come out about Shroud’s contract, but I firmly believe Ninja is a higher tier streamer who will demand top dollar. And I’m sure Doc doesn’t mind waiting for Ninja to get signed… He’s not hurting for cash right now, he has his sponsors still, he can still get subs on YouTube, and he’s shown he can pull in much larger numbers than Ninja… And Ninja is probably more known than Doc because of his type of audience. Ninja has merchandise in many major stores where kids can buy it so inherently the parents know Ninja or have at least heard about him. But I think Doc has a more loyal following who is still capable of pulling in those crazy numbers, and you know what… I attribute that to the intrigue surrounding him and Twitch right now, but I’m a fan of his and I hope this continues to work in his benefit.
(WildTwinsFan) I see your point, but what’s to say Ninja is not doing the same thing? See what Doc gets and use that as a bargaining point?
(Daygon07) That’s a possibility too, and I think Ninja has the upper hand here because he CAN still stream on Twitch AND negotiate with them… Doc is kind of limited. So Doc, to me, has the higher probability of deciding his direction first before Ninja does, but only time will tell.
(WildTwinsFan) Yeah you said it Day, Ninja can still stream on Twitch, and he did… to the tune of over a hundred thousand viewers. Though he had more viewers on youtube, my guess is he’s trying to feel out where he can get the most viewers and most engagement. More views and engagement equals more money so it makes sense for him to dip his toes in each of the streaming ponds. Also his stream was unplanned and spontaneous so maybe if the stream was planned and hyped you’d see closer numbers.
(Daygon07) Possibly… Ninja, I think, will still sign with YouTube… IF they want to sign him, otherwise, he might go back to Twitch. With Doc gone, they’re going to need a new face. Ninja is relatively well liked within the streaming community and hasn’t had much, if any, controversy with his name and has a lot of clout behind him… Sounds just like the type of person Twitch would look for to be the face of their platform.
(WildTwinsFan) I don’t know if I see Ninja as Twitch’s face anymore, but maybe a prominent figure. The break -up was pretty bad, but the fact that he did stream on Twitch might be an indication that he and his party are willing to make amends if Twitch wants to make amends, I did see however that Ninja actually made affiliate on his first stream. Maybe in twitch’s part to try and get some momentum in their court. I’m not sure if there’s some type of fastlane way to get into an affiliate, but he certainly skipped a couple milestones to get there, maybe it’s part of a “Mixxer agreement” because there’s a total time streamed in 30 days that ninja couldn’t have met his first stream.
(Daygon07) Either way Ninja is going to sign somewhere. So, the Ninja and Doc watch continues. As we get new information we will be posting it to our blog. In case you didn’t know, we’ve launched an awesome new website where we post our episode transcripts as well as additional content. Check it out at https://agamingmoment.com.
(Daygon07) Wildie, what else did you see this week?
Call of Duty Mystery Packages
(WildTwinsFan) Call of Duty 2020, Sent out mystery packages to High profile Cod Players, (Somehow they missed me? ) Those boxes contained slide projectors and a variety of mostly different slides to each party, pretty cool too! an actual 1950’s slide projector, no doubt a bit of an easter egg to pinpoint a timeline, as the community at large suspects the 1950’s. The slides have led fans to a teaser website, and it looks as if the next piece of the puzzle will be coming Friday, August 14. We know Call of Duty 2020 will be closely tied to Warzone. We’ve also heard that apparently the game is already in a playable state. We also now know that it’s a Treyarch and Raven Software developed title. A series of leaks have suggested that this year’s Call of Duty will be called Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, with a campaign, regular multiplayer and maybe zombies! On top of warzone.
(Daygon07) Ahhh crap… Another Call of Duty title that I might buy… I told myself after WWII that I would call it quits… And I did… Until Modern Warfare, because as many of you know I’m infatuated with the story line… The Black Ops series was good as well, and the fact that it’s being developed by Treyarch intrigues me. Treyarch games, in my opinion, were largely second best within the Call of Duty franchise but they were still pretty good. Now they’re bringing Zombies back! That alone is a reason for me to pick it up because I got some friends who will want me to go Zombie hunting with them… that and the misses love zombies too. I wonder if the new Call of Duty content will have content limited to the Playstation like they did with the Survival Mode, which won’t be released on PC and Xbox until October 2020?
(WildTwinsFan) Good question, but speaking of Playstation, There are rumors flying of Timed exclusives to be expected on new generation consoles – we know a couple titles already, with Ghostwire: Tokyo and Deathloop tied to Playstation 5…. For now…- And like Call of Duty both Sony and Microsoft have been playing the timed exclusives game for years.
(Daygon07) Call of Duty for many years would always get the new maps and exclusive content first on Xbox, generally a month before other platforms. Currently, Sony’s has the upper hand in getting Survival Mode before other platforms.
Spiderman is Playstation Exclusive in Avengers Game
(WildTwinsFan) Now we also know that Sony is Claiming Spiderman for the upcoming Marvel Avengers game. Gamer’s are mad and upset that Spider-Man will only be in the PlayStation version. The developers are making Spiderman available as downloadable content on the Playstation platform only.
(Daygon07) Yeah, Xbox players are upset but Sony has final say in what happens with Spiderman. In case you didn’t know, Sony owns the right to Spiderman and not Marvel. Luckily Sony and Marvel worked out a deal to partner together to continue making Spiderman movies with Tom Holland… Remember the Spiderman movies with Andrew Garfield playing Spiderman and Emma Stone playing Gwen Stacy… horrible movies that were produced by Sony Pictures. So in short, Sony can do what they want with Spiderman because they own the rights.
PS5 has multiple other editions in the planning stages?
(WildTwinsFan) A patent revealed that Sony has plans for a dual GPU PS5 and maybe even a Stick that would use the cloud for the heavy lifting in gaming. Probably similar to Stadia, Xcloud or geforce now. Way too early to tell if these patents will come to life, but a little glimpse of the potential future is neat.
(Daygon07) – Yeah we are in the midst of a gaming technology renaissance right now. Console has always been the underdog in the gaming market when it comes to power and tech limitations. Consoles are having to compete with PCs that can easily be upgraded at any time and perform better than a console in graphics and overall game speed. So consoles, now, are stepping up and putting more tech into them. I’d be curious to see how the dual GPU will look and if you’ll even get the max capability out of it because I’m not sure if most TVs are 60 or 120Hz to get that buttery smooth 120FPS.

Fall Guys Released
(WildTwinsFan) Fall Guys released last week, it’s a massively multiplayer party game with up to 60 players online in a free-for-all struggle through round after round of escalating chaos until one victor remains! Looks like a damn good time, I plan on picking this up in the near future, looks evil and difficult. Probably somewhat similar to our last couple non pubg gaming nights where we played Golf with Friends, evil and fun. You could go from hero to zero (last place) in a matter of a single hole, so bad you may not be able to come back. I can only imagine this will be so much fun to play with all our friends.
(Daygon07) Yeah, we streamed those nights. so, definitely follow us on twitch, daygon07/wildtwinsfan/agamingmoment I’ve seen bits and pieces of Fall Guys. Not sure how I feel about it yet. From what I heard it’s still pretty buggy, but that’s to be expected with an early release game. I’m not convinced yet to buy it but I could potentially be peer pressured into it.
Twitch Prime Rebrands to Prime Gaming
(WildTwinsFan) And since we are talking about Twitch! Amazon is rebranding Twitch Prime to Prime Gaming. Prime Gaming is already available at no extra cost to anyone who already has an Amazon Prime account. Amazon hopes that the rebranding will help broaden awareness of the service which provides perks such as free games and exclusive in-game content. Prime Gaming offers members the same gaming benefits they had with Twitch Prime, but now as one of the core entertainment benefits of Prime-.
(Daygon07) While many of Twitch Prime’s benefits were predominantly aimed at PC gaming, it sounds like this rebranding is going to expand the perks to console gamers, as well. Prime Gaming’s general manager Larry Plotnick stated “We’re giving customers new content that makes playing their favorite games on every platform even better. So no matter what kind of games you love, and no matter where you play them, they’ll be even better with Prime Gaming,” So this is an exciting time to be a gamer.
Reckful Now NPC in World of Warcraft
(WildTwinsFan) And we’d like to take a moment to follow up on a sad story from episode 2. IN EP2 We talked about the unfortunate passing of prominent World of Warcraft gamer and streamer, Reckful. WoW has now introduced Reckful as a non-playable character. Nice touch by Blizzard on this one.
(Daygon07) – Yeah, this is a classy move by Blizzard to immortalize one of their own in a game that he loved so much. I’m still tore up about how he left this world but at least now, WoW players, his family, and community will be able to remember him and his character.
(Daygon07) Hey if you haven’t already, be sure to follow us on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram so you can engage with us as well as find out when we’re streaming the podcast and get a first listen before it goes out across all podcasting platforms… SO DO IT!
Well now that you mentioned it, there’s no better reason to hit us up on the social medias than the Top Questions of the week.
Questions of the Week
Shout out to Ron Tonk for this question of the week. Are you Hot dropping for instant action, or Cold dropping, looting and then finding the action.
(Daygon07) – Well for PUBG there’s a few factors… The map, the number of people in your party, and the party members. Fortunately we play with the same group enough that we know their strengths (#BringBackStrengthnNumbers) and weaknesses and drop accordingly. So I’ll put it this way, if I’m solo squadding Cold Drop for sure, 3 man squads, cold, Duos or 4 mans hot. Sometimes it works out for us sometimes not… mostly not lately…
(WildTwinsFan) So thank you Ron for reaching out to us and getting your QOTW featured. Guys If you want your question featured on the podcast, be sure to hit us up or leave a comment on one of our social platforms.
(Daygon07) That’s it for this episode. As stated we’re excited to see Shroud off the free agent list and we’re still waiting to see where Doc and Ninja sign, but for the time being it looks like Doc is going to be on YouTube. Thanks to our producer Billy, wherever he is. Thank you guys for listening in and supporting us.
